At first glance, Mai comes off as grumpy and unapproachable, which is a mannerism she purposefully developed over the years. She is very independent, down to earth and hard-working. She is blunt and honest about her opionions, but not so much when it comes to herself.
However, once being able to get to know her and past her set up walls, Mai is able to open up little by little and show her kind side. She might keep up her stern demeanor but her actions easily tell when she took liking to someone else. Usually this shows via her making sure said person is healthy and generally being more gentle when voicing her opinions. Other than that, being around people she likes relaxes her and it is way easier to make her smile.

Mai doesn’t enjoy wearing dresses or skirts, so she sticks to pants for her own closet. She doesn’t mind wearing colorful clothes, though her color palette is more muted than bright.
